Railways of Wales
North Wales is famous for its narrow gauge railways. Many were closed down along with the slate mines, however many still remain as tourist attractions with arguably the most famous of these being the Welsh Highland and Ffestiniog Railway which runs from the harbour town of Porthmadog to the slate mining town of Blaenau Ffestiniog. There is also the stunning Llangollen Railway as well as regular railtours using the Welsh tracks.
